1) The Weighted Average Pick Position (WAPP) is determined using a harmonic mean, which gives the highest weight to the first overall pick, the second highest to the second overall pick, etc. The thinking behind this approach is that the relative difference between the first and the fifth pick is much higher than the difference between e.g. the 130th and 135th pick. The smallest number is granted to the team with the lowest overall pick position in the draft.
